End-user licence agreement.

Onuri Antivirus is closed-source software. This agreement explains what you may do with it. By installing or using the app you accept it.

1. Licence grant

Onuri Labs grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Onuri Antivirus (the app, its command-line tool and the detection rules and data it downloads) on as many devices as your licence has seats: 2 for a founder or Duo licence, 1 for a Single licence. A device uses a seat while it's signed in; signing it out frees the seat. Early-access builds may also be used for evaluation as described on the download page.

The software is licensed, not sold. Onuri Labs keeps all rights not expressly granted.

2. Restrictions

Except where applicable law expressly allows it despite this restriction (for example, for interoperability), you may not:

  • reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the software, or try to extract its source code, detection rules or signing keys;
  • copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, lend, sublicense or host the software for others;
  • remove or bypass licence checks, seat limits, update-signature checks or other protections;
  • use the software to build a competing product or detection dataset;
  • publish benchmark results without describing the version and method used.

3. Licence verification and heartbeat

When you sign in, the app receives a licence signed by Onuri Labs and bound to that device. While signed in, the app contacts onurilabs.com on launch and about every 6 hours (a "heartbeat") to refresh the licence, sending only the data listed in our privacy policy: app and OS version, last scan time, the number of open threats and whether protection is on. It never sends files, file names or findings.

A licence is valid for 30 days after each refresh. If your device is offline when it expires, protection keeps running for a further 7-day grace period while the app asks you to reconnect, because an antivirus shouldn't switch itself off just because Wi-Fi is down. After that, the app asks you to sign in again. A revoked licence stops working at the next heartbeat.

4. Updates

The app checks onurilabs.com for updates and installs one only after you click to do so. Every update is signed, and the app refuses any update whose signature doesn't match the key built into it. Updates may add, change or remove features, and this agreement applies to them. Detection rules and threat data may update automatically so protection stays current.

5. Quarantine — Onuri never deletes your files

Scans only read files. Onuri never deletes a file on its own. For files with a malicious verdict, it can quarantine them if you choose to: the file is moved into an encrypted store and can be restored at any time. You decide what to quarantine, restore or delete, and you're responsible for keeping backups of important data.

6. Third-party software

The app includes open-source components under their own licences, listed in the third-party notices. Nothing in this agreement limits your rights under those licences.

7. Warranty disclaimer

No security software detects every threat or avoids every false positive. To the extent the law allows, the software is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and without any guarantee that it will be error-free or uninterrupted. Consumers keep any statutory rights that can't be excluded.

8. Limitation of liability

The limits in section 8 of the terms of service apply to the software too.

9. Termination

This licence ends automatically if you break it, and we may revoke a licence for abuse or fraud as described in the terms. When it ends, stop using the software and uninstall it. Sections 2, 5 to 8 and this section survive termination. Governing law is as stated in the terms of service.
